We were a bit worried about the hype around this watch and its price tag. So, people are definitely picking them up, but I’m not really seeing the market shift all that much. Still, do I really want to shell out $25,000 for a Jubilee Batman? No way!
The watch drops, and it’s pretty much the same story as the Pepsi, double the retail price, hard to find, waiting lists, you name it. Are the ADEs messing with us, or is Rolex the one pulling the strings with the ADEs? I’m not really sure what’s happening these days. It’s tough to explain, but I think Pepsi makes
more sense since it’s a remake of something classic. I wouldn’t say I
hate it, but I’m not quite convinced it’s worth that price. In retail, I
think it totally makes sense, a $10,000 watch? No problem at all! I
could totally get a gold watch for $20,000, or maybe a steel AP instead.
I just don’t really view it as a collector’s item or a standout piece,
you know?
Hey, come on, do you really think Rolex would make something that easy to swap out? They really don’t. You really have to put in the extra effort to make that happen. Honestly, I think the Pepsi move was solid last year, but I have a feeling that Batman might overshadow it a bit. So, here we are in the summer of 2019, and I still believe that Pepsi is going to steal the spotlight from Batman in the Jubilee game. When it comes to the bracelet itself, I think they did a pretty solid job.
